top ten reasons to vote democrat (in no order)

    1.  bush lied, people died.  (even though it can't be proven that he knew anything at all, especially given the other great idea that he is a complete fool)

    2.  oil company's make a lot of money, and we are paying a lot at the pump.  (even though they pay more taxes than anyone else, and obama wants to tax them even more.  guess which direction the prices will go after that!)

    3.  we need to bring our boys home.  (even though obama has changed his war position to be exactly like mccain's)

    4.  the rich are getting richer, while the poor are getting poorer.  (a good thing, followed by a lie.  it is awesome when people get rich, and the standard of living for our poorest is the best it's ever been.  does it really make sense that we should bring the rich down instead of bringing the poor up?  maybe the left really does believe in equality, just that we should all be equally poor and subservient to the government.)

    5.  republicans don't care about the environment.  (the free market is producing more fuel efficient cars faster than the time-line given by obama for his plan to require more fuel efficient cars.  it's startling to see how little people understand when it comes to how the free market works.  more regulation in the car industry is just the thing that will drive up the price of cars, and drive down competition in the automobile market;  two things that we really do not need.)

    6.  a black guy for president!  (way to move past race, democratic party!)

    7.  eh, i give up.

    8.  go have your hope orgy and feel good about yourselves.

  • if, as suggested in a previous post, i can be honest, im not sure of any real purpose at making political positions made online. its not that i dont respect your ideals on these issues, but the one thing i know for a fact is that all of these issues are far more complex than you make them seem. the bottom line is that even though i am aligned with you pretty closely on many of the issues you bring up, the way that you express them shows a lower degree of nuance than im comfortable with. im neither a mccain supporter nor am i an obama supporter, and i feel that deriding a group based mostly on party lines is counterproductive. from my point of view any candidates official positions, be they democrat or republican, are suspect and subject to change at almost any moment simply because they are in fact political.

but perhaps im off my nut.

  • @mtnman36 - i AM glad that you are being honest, and there is no real purpose at making political positions online.  i do it because i have nothing better to do, and because if i don't i'll probably slam my head against a wall.  i feel very deeply about these issues, and i understand very well that all of these issues are very complex.  however, it's hard to make a joke about the left's lack of nuance without failing to inject my own.  it would be cool if i could write a few pages on each of these issues.  nobody would read them, especially not the people it's intended to reach.  do not worry, these points are not the entirety of my political beliefs.  these are merely quick responses to the summed up beliefs held by many on the other side.

i can see that you are still on the nut from down here.
